From monitoring to proactive alerts

Project Highlight

Challenge

Reactive power exceeding grid operator thresholds can lead to avoidable grid charges — around €1,800 per year in this concept example. The problem is that these costs often become visible only at the end of the month, when it is already too late to react. Existing energy management tools mainly expose technical data without providing enough context, forecasting, or actionable recommendations.

Solution

I designed a proactive alert system that detects approaching threshold violations and translates technical data into clear financial impact. A guided user flow takes users from threshold setup and early alerts to cost analysis, root-cause detection, and concrete compensation recommendations.

Outcome

The concept transforms reactive power monitoring from passive data tracking into proactive decision-making. Users can understand not only what is happening, but also what it could cost, why it is happening, and what they can do about it. For Customer Success teams, an aggregated cockpit enables proactive monitoring and customer support across multiple accounts. Since this is a concept project with fictional data and unvalidated user research, I would use “Outcome” to describe the intended product impact rather than claiming measured results. The documentation explicitly frames the target users as hypotheses and the €1,800 figure as fictional.
